Dr. Brenda Gong

Dr. Gong has been working in the dental field for nearly 15 years, and she loves being able to change people's smiles for the better — improving their oral health in a way that also benefits their quality of life.
"I grew up in a small town where most people knew one another very well, and it was common to see neighbors struggling with chronic, untreated dental pain. As a young child, I wished I could treat their problems for free, which is why I became interested in the medical/dental field in the 3rd grade. I truly love my profession and wouldn't change my career path for anything in the world."

Academic Excellence & Advanced Training
Dr. Gong earned her BS degree in dental hygiene at UNC-Chapel Hill, then returned to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the same institution. During dental school she was one of only eight students selected for advanced implant courses — and even had the opportunity to place implants as a student.
After graduation, she completed a six-month mini implant residency, and has since pursued extensive training in IV sedation, TMD/occlusion, and periodontology. Today she takes nearly 100 continuing education courses per year — because in dentistry, learning never stops.

Life Outside the Dental Chair
At home, Dr. Gong is married with one child. Her small family loves traveling together and experiencing different cultures — especially the environments and food. They also enjoy playing golf and tennis on the weekends and look forward to gardening in their front and back yards each spring.
Personally, Dr. Gong is a passionate lifelong learner who never gets tired of studying — just about anything, as long as there's no test at the end. That same curiosity and dedication to growth is what drives her to pursue nearly 100 continuing education courses each year, ensuring her patients always receive care informed by the latest advances in dentistry.
